I’m sick of the controversy regarding steroids and baseball. As long as there are controlled and banned substances, there are going to be people who try to cheat the system and get an advantage. I got a solution, let them juice all they want.
I know people don’t want to think about it and believe it would ruin the integrity of the game. Bullcrap! Pete Rose, the Black Sox, blah blah blah. There have been plenty of problems in the past and there will be more in the future. If you let them juice, then anybody who’s willing to subject themselves to the latest lab experiment can do so. It will be out in the open and nobody will mind. Actually, if you gave everybody tests consistently maybe there would be a stigma behind using them.
I’m just wondering why everyone is so worried about “the game”. It’s meant for the fans and if these freaks want to take drugs to make themselves better than why not? They are adults and should be able to make these choices.
I’m expecting the “bad role-model” argument to pop-up.

A two tier system. But you bring up good points. It won’t be long b4 “supplements” are genetic mods in nature and undetectable. Its time they take the WWE approach…..”sports entertainment”. The Olympics have been that way since the 70s.

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard in a while. Forget bad-role model…it encourages everyone to practice unsafe training to get just a little bit better at a game.

That’s my point. They’re grown men, they can decide if they want to risk that or not. Why should baseball limit your training choices?

Because it tarnishes the game and its history. 500 / 60 becomes a joke and guys like Canseco and McGwire become legitimate candidates for the Hall. Where does the line move and who makes the call? Is it ok for college guys to juice so they can get the lucrative contract?
