Just wanted to let everyone know that Brooklyn turned 11 this week. She’s doing well and as sweet as ever!

Wayne’s heading into town tonight to pick up my “old” 32″ Sony Trinitron. Anybody want to volunteer and help us bring it down the stairs?

Anyway, when we’re done with that, we’re gonna walk down to the Mellow Mushroom for a beer and pizza. Yeah, baby! I love living downtown…

So, with all this rain, does anyone wonder what my drive is like to and from Greensboro? I didn’t think so but I’ll show you anyway…

Here ya go:

Do you envy me? C’mon…I know you do!

Kudos, to MT.net for finding this satire piece about the Hurricanes winning the Stanley Cup over at the Onion. I’ve always loved the Onion and was worried it was starting to get stale put that was some pretty funny stuff…

So, last night I took JT to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. He’s told me all along that he’s a good luck charm and that its him…Well, after the Hurricanes beat the Oilers 3-1 to win the cup, I’ll have to agree! I might have to take you to all of them from now on! (Sorry, Beth!)

The atmosphere at the RBC was absolutely incredible. Everybody stood for the whole game. Everyone! It was crazy. I also have to gave major props to Oilers fans who had been incredibly gracious the whole series. A stark contrast to the Sabres fans…

One of the best aspects to this win is that there are a lot of Maple Leafs fans flingin’ themselves out windows this morning….stupid leafs fans. :)

The Hurricanes lose heartbreaker last night, 4-3, on a really bad turnover in Overtime.

But they did quote me and Beth (werd up, yo!) about the tension at the arena.

“It’s a lot less nerve-racking when they’re winning,” Beth Marshall of Raleigh observed, although as her companion Scott Greenough pointed out, “Knowing there’s two games left, it’s not like Game 7. That would be crazy.”

I was her “companion”. heh.

well, things are looking good for the hurricanes after their 2-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers last night. They now have a 3 games to 1 lead and only need one more to win the Stanley Cup. Raleigh could become hockey town! Woot!

I’ll be at the RBC on Wednesday hoping they pull it out and hoist the cup!

Go Canes!

but it doesn’t like me!

See, I was playing last night at the Factory Ice House and was playing pretty well when this dude on the other team decided to pull up and level me while we were chasing a puck. Well, I lost…ER and a couple of X-rays later my shoulder wasn’t dislocated but slightly seperated…yay! Other than that it looked good and there was no damage. Phew…

It does hurt like heck, though…

I was hanging out with a friend of mine yesterday and he had on what is now my new favorite t-shirt.

Well, the World Cup starts on friday with host Germany playing Costa Rica. It’s on at 12:00 eastern on ESPN2.

Now, I know most of you could care less but the World Cup is a great sporting event worth at least a little notice. If you can, turn on a game and if you only pick one team to watch then make it Brazil since they really have a more fun style.

The US is in a tough group with Italy, Czech Republic and Ghana. They’ll be hard pressed to make it to the knockout stage but the people thought the same thing in ‘02.

Oh and I’ll be watching the games on my new TV.

And to keep track of the teams and scores and other news items relating to the World Cup, head over to SoccerNet. ESPN’s home for soccer.
