Wake county is holding a meeting tonight at 7:00 PM at the McKimmon center on NC State campus to discuss transit in our area.
If you can’t make it out to the meeting and you have cable, you can watch it on channel 100. If you miss it tonight, it will be showing on one of the on-demand stations.
so, I finally sold my car and got a good price for it…
Today is the first day since I was a freshman in college that I didn’t have a car. Not sure what I’m gonna do but I’m gonna try getting along without one for a while. I think I can manage for the most part but buying big ticket items and transporting Brooke will be a little hard.
Any suggestions? Besides getting a car or other vehicle, of course…
Ok, so amongst all the controversy in Charlotte for their regional rail system a group known as the Vespa Purchase Plan has put together a proposal to aid Charlotte transportation AND save tons of cash in the process.
Basically, their premise is that if its going to cost the State and local governments 250 billion dollars to build the rail, why not buy a Vespa for every person in all counties affected….that’s right every man, woman and child would get a Vespa. Oh, and here’s the crazy part. The gov’t would save 61 billion!!
Now, I love trains and love the idea of regional railroad but you know if the Government says it will cost 250 billion it will be more like 350 billion!!
I think these guys are serious too but my big concern is how would somebody get from Huntersville to Downtown Charlotte on a Vespa? Can it ride the highway?
Anyway, here’s a video they put together. Check it out!
[edit] Thanks to JT.net for pointing out that I meant Million not billion! oops!
