So, at lunch today I went down to the Sheriff’s office downtown and applied for 5 gun permits. Yeah, I know why do I need five. Well, you just never know and you can use them for other guns besides handguns so you don’t have to wait on a federal check or what not.

Anyway, the process was pretty easy so if you have ever thought about it just head downtown and take the 5 minutes to apply. This time next week I should have the permits

I know people are just trying to capitalize on the Obama worshippers but serious a ChiaObama? I also checked Amazon for some legitimacy and this seems totally straight up.

Here’s the vid for you!

And people from other places think Americans are whacked! Go figure!

Just wanted to let everyone know that today is Brooklyn’s 14th birthday!

She’s old, mostly deaf, cataracts in one eye and her arthritis ain’t so good but she’s still pluggin’ along smiling and wagging that tail! Oh, and eating anything she can get her jaws on… :)

brooklyn!

Ok, I came across this site a while back but damn, it’s good.

It’s called Awkward Family Photos and here’s a great one to check out called the Dribbler!

God, that’s awesome…

So, back in February I went to see my dentist for a routine exam and wanted to have a procedure done to help reduce some sensitivity I’d been having. They told me that for insurance to cover it they would have to file it a specific way and for that to happen I’d have to make an appointment to come back. Ok, no problem so I did that.

I went back and they did the procedure and it went well. I then heard them mention the insurance stuff but it sounded different than what they said the previous week. I should have said something in hindsight but I let it go figuring they knew best.

Well, this week I get a bill in the mail for the procedure. Hmmm….Well, I called, explained and they waived the fee without blinking an eye. I really didn’t even have to say much!

So, if you want a good dentist with excellent customer service (and you’re in the Raleigh area :) ) then call Dr Michael Woodard .He’s in North Raleigh on Falls of the Neuse so if you live up that way and thought of changing dentists give him a call. Oh, and ask for Tonya. She’s the nice lady who helped me out!

at 18?

According to the new credit card provisions (My buddy MT.net provides his take here), if you’re younger than 21 you have to get a parent to co-sign? WTF?!?

Seriously, if an adult wants to get a credit card they should be able to. Why does big brother need to protect adults? Can’t they make their own decisions? Obviously, the government doesn’t think so…

I believe that in our Constitutional Republic (notice I didn’t say democracy) we should be able to make bad decisions along with good ones and suffer or benefit from those decisions. I’ve made bad decisions and learned from them. That’s the way it’s supposed to be!

but I’m glad NYC’s finest caught them

How does this guy not get skewered? Here’s a quote from him in a NY Times article on the slow pace of stimulus spending:

“I think that what you’re going to see happen here is the velocity of this will increase not just arithmetically, but geometrically here. At least, we’ve got to make that happen.”

Geometrically? Really, so it’s going to start increasing like a tetrahedron, dodecahedron? Maybe like a couple of rhombus’? Why does the administration even let him speak?

Wow…it’s almost as good as when he asked the guy in the wheel chair to stand up! Rube!

Remember the “How to win an argument” spoof article from years back. You know the one where you’re supposed to make things up, tell the other person they’re begging the question and comparing them to Hitler?

Well, I think it needs a new entry: “we need to do this for the children”

Is there any more pandering, self-serving and ignorant defense than that? And the funny thing is that statement knows no political boundaries; liberal, conservative, Mao, green, purple, whatever.

Just remember what good ol’ George Carlin said

Speaking of evil, looks like Apple is raising the prices of popular downloads. They say they’re also lowering the price of many less popular songs. Well according to this slashdot article those cheap downloads are hard to find. It appears that most downloads are either $0.99 or the more expensive $1.29.

With that knowledge, I’m gonna start using Amazon’s digital download service.

Great Job(s), Apple!

Oh, and while they’re at it they should go ahead and make a patent claim on automatic updates and then not let people use it for free! Oh wait…they already did.

Can my fanboi friends now admit that Apple is everybit as “evil” as MS?
